A Wireless Stream Deck
This is definitely going on my project list:
I even already have some of the parts.
The big discovery for me in this video was the VirtualHere software that enables USB over IP and can run on the Pi. I had no idea that was possible, and I’m definitely looking forward to playing with that for various projects.
I’ve been looking for ways to do Vinylcasts from the record player in my basement and I’ve been planning on making a tiny radio server out of a Raspberry Pi compute module, but just using VirtualHere may be an easier half-step to start with. It will be interesting to see what the limits of VirtualHere are in terms of bandwidth, latency, and reliability and trying to use it for audio may be a good stress test.
I wonder what else would be possible if USB over IP works well. Could VirtualHere work over the internet with a VPN tunnel allowing for remote USB across the world?
